A free square footage calculator for your website.
Homeowners measure the room in feet and inches, add sections for L-shapes and alcoves, pick a material, and get the square footage plus how many boxes to buy. They leave their contact details first, so every measurement is a lead for you. One copy-paste, no plugin, no cost.
What your visitors see.
The question every flooring, tile and paint customer asks before they call: how big is the room? This answers it on your site and sends you the numbers. Try it: this demo sends its leads to us, yours will go to you.
- Feet and inches, the way people read a tape measure. No converting 6 inches to 0.5 first.
- L-shaped rooms: add a section for each rectangle and the tool adds them up, with a diagram that redraws as they type.
- Your materials: vinyl plank, tile, carpet, whatever you sell, with the coverage per box and a waste allowance you set.
- Boxes to buy, rounded up, so the homeowner arrives at the quote already knowing roughly what the job needs.
- Contact details before the number: name, phone and email land in your inbox with every section measured out.
Three steps. About three minutes.
1. List your materials
Your business name and email, then the materials you want homeowners to choose from, with the square feet per box and a waste percentage. Five common ones are filled in; change or delete any of them.
2. Paste the code
Three lines on any page. WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Webflow, plain HTML. Nothing to install, and fixes roll out from our side.
3. Measurements hit your inbox
Every completed calculation is emailed to you: each section's dimensions, the total, the material, the waste allowance and the number of units. We don't keep the homeowner's details.
Why it's free: the embed code carries a one-line credit linking back to The Digital Keystone. That link is the whole deal. It stays, and in return you get the tool, the hosting and the updates for nothing. Want it with no credit line, or built around your exact services? That's a custom job, and we're happy to quote it.
Build your calculator.
Fill this in once and your embed code is ready. Want to change your materials later? Come back and run it again with the same email and your existing code updates by itself.
Paste this where you want the calculator to appear.
Where to paste it
- WordPress: add a Custom HTML block to the page and paste the code into it.
- Squarespace: add a Code block (not Embed) and paste; make sure "Display Source" is off.
- Wix: Add → Embed Code → Embed HTML, paste, then resize the box to fit.
- Webflow: drop in an Embed element and paste.
- Any other site: paste it into the page's HTML where the calculator should show.
Keep all three lines together, including the credit line. Changing your settings later? Run this generator again with the same email address — the code you already pasted picks up the new numbers automatically.
Questions contractors ask.
Yes. No charge, no trial, no upsell inside the widget. The only condition is the one-line credit that links back to The Digital Keystone. That link is how we get paid, in the form of exposure. If it is removed, the calculator puts it back.
Anyone who prices by the square foot: flooring, tile, carpet, epoxy, paint, countertops. If your first question to a new customer is "how big is the room," this answers it before they call and sends you the numbers.
Yes. The homeowner adds a section for each rectangle (the main area, the alcove, the closet) and the tool adds them together, up to eight sections. A diagram redraws as they type so they can see they have it right.
To the email address you enter when you generate the code. Every completed calculation arrives with the homeowner's name, phone and email, each section's length and width, the total, the material they picked and how many units that works out to. We relay the email; we do not store the homeowner's details.
Any time. Come back to this page and run the generator again with the same email address. The code you already pasted keeps working and picks up the new list on the next page load.
It calculates any rectangle, so a homeowner can enter a wall's width and height as if it were a floor. The waste allowance and units per box still apply. For a proper paint calculator with doors and windows subtracted, talk to us about a custom build.
Want a calculator that prices the job too?
Square footage times your rate, with the options that change the price built in. We build custom estimators, galleries and lead-capture tools into contractor websites every week.
